Tracfone a frontrunner against FCC's tax increase

The Federal Communications Commision (FCC) has recently announced its plans to raise the Universal Service Fund (USF) fee to $1 or more every month. This new ruling would apply to all carriers of wireless service. While $1 doesn't seem like too much at first, for companies like Tracfone, this is nearly a 1600% increase from the previous USF fee. This increase adds up quickly and will definitely have a huge impact on Tracfone's financials. Tracfone is currently saying alot to get people to get on their side to protest against the FCC's rulings. The FCC is a federal committee but is operated completely by the public. Many past FCC rulings have been overturned because of public outcry, so hopefully for Tracfone this will be no exception.

Kyocera K126c for TracFone

TracFone is poised to release another 'no-thrills' mobile phone into the market. The Kyocera K126c is now ready for distribution but dates as to its launch is still to be announced. TracFone,

the mobile phone's carrier, says their target market for this phone is the low-end individuals who are in need of a mobile phone with reliable basic features.
Okay, so we get the catch. But the question is: Will the Kyocera K126c be able to deliver the promise it made? We have seen a lot of mobile phones without strong advanced features that either made waves or rode the pine. TracFone made a risky move with this future deal; especially they don't have much good mobile phones on their line up.
Just in case the Kyocera K126c makes it alive after its launch, TracFone should be prepared for demands for
mobile phone accessories like cell phone covers and cell phone batteries.
I wish them luck on this one.

Sky Neon Sign's 49 LEDs allows you to express yourself

Sky in Korea has recently launched a new "Neon Sign" HSDPA clamshell. What's interesting about it is the fact that it has 49 LEDs on the front panel which can display different icons. Naturally, you can customize those LED notifications, so for instance when your ex calls you, the LEDs could form the big "X", suggesting you to think about before answering. ;)

Other specs include T-DMB mobile TV receiver, 2 megapixel camera, WCDMA global roaming and video telephony support. As for the pre-installed apps, aside from "mobile classics" (calculator, contacts, calender, etc.), the Neon Sign features media player, electronic dictionary, text viewer. Multitasking functionality is also mentioned, giving us a hint some powerful (or at least newer) feature phone platform is used.

The phone is available in white, sky blue, pink and black for about 400-500 USD.
